Leeds Varsity match.

Leeds Varsity is a day full of sporting competition for rivalling university's University of Leeds and Leeds Beckett University. However all the hype and excitement builds towards the main spectacle of the day, the firsts Rugby Union game. Even though I went to this event, not having any idea what the rules of Union are, this didn't deny me of an absolutely amazing time.

The atmosphere within the stadium was electric, and the two teams were divided in the grandstand, throwing chants, quite a bit of abuse, at one another. In the first half the score was all tied up, and it looked like the match was there for the taking. Five minutes before full time, University of Leeds managed to scrap ahead by a few points, sending the supporters in green, maroon and white into a massive cheer and dance. At this stage we though we had it. Thought it was time to put up and leave, as we had just won the most highly anticipated event of the day.

However, things did not go as planned. With only a few minutes to spare, it seemed that our boys just gave up. Leeds Beckett University made an amazing few trys, putting our score to shame. We had to leave before the final result was read as it was too heart-crushing to see our university get enielated. Meaning the final result read...

Even though the night didn't go as planned, it was still such an amazing environment to be within. Drinks with friends while watching live sport, life doesn't get much better than that!
